POSITION TITLE: HIGH SCHOOL BAND TEACHER

EVERGREEN HIGH SCHOOL
DESCRIPTION -
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate skills necessary to provide a successful experience with secondary and elementary school students.
Work effectively and cooperatively with instrumental and choral staff in team teaching situations including concert, and marching bands.
Display competency in instrumental music techniques.
Build musicianship at secondary and elementary levels.
Present school''s music program(s) to the community in a positive manner.
Display competency in new technology.
Participate in co-curricular music activities.
Work effectively and cooperatively with the community, teachers, administrators and support staff.
Keep accurate and up to date records and documentation of teaching activities and student achievement.
Qualifications:
Valid Washington State teaching certificate with endorsement in music education.
High School band and orchestra experience.
Preferred training and/or experience; or willingness to take course work to increase knowledge and use of the following instructional and management strategies to include:1.Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
Learning.
through professional learning communities.
4.Envoy.
5.Workshop Method Strategies.
6.Preferred experience in working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically and racially diverse.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is on a conditional basis pending completion of a state and national background check.
Effective Date:2014-2015 School Year Salary:Per Negotiated Agreement
Benefits:Per Negotiated Agreement Work Year:2014-2015 School Year
