DESCRIPTION -
Responsibilities:
1.0FTESecondGrade teaching position atOrchardsElementary School(for one year only).
Qualifications:
Valid Washington Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement and meet qualifications for Highly Qualified in Elementary Curriculum
Understanding of Grade Level Expectations and EALRs
Preferred training and/or experience; or willingness to take course work to increase knowledge and use of the following instructional and engagement strategies to include:1.Classroom Management Skills
2.Developmentally Appropriate Practices
3.Balanced Approach (modeled, shared, guided)
4.Workshop Approach.
5.Reading/Writing Process
6.Differentiation
Instructional Practices
8.Familiarity with the basic concepts of Glasser's works inChoice Theory and Quality Schools
9.Anti bias, Multicultural Education
10.Learner Centered Instruction
11.Oral Language Development (receptive and expressive)
12.Teaching Learning Cycle (assessment, evaluation, planning, teaching)
13.Gradual Release of Responsibility (To, With, By)
14.Cambourne's Conditions for Learning
Learning Communities
16.Participation in Instructional Coaching
Preferred experience in working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically and racially diverse
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is on a conditional basis pending completion of a state and national background check.
Effective Date:2014-2015 School Year Salary:Per Negotiated Agreement
Benefits:Per Negotiated Agreement Work Year:2014-2015 School Year
