POSITION
Summary:
Senior System Administrator team ensures stability, integrity and efficiency of IT infrastructure. Includes servers, operating systems, applications, databases, files, security and storage systems. You could be researching, designing, developing, building, maintaining, supporting and optimizing key areas of enterprise-wide technology infrastructure.
The team must also implement security and disaster recovery necessary to protect various entities and the data contained within. Senior System Administrator role also requires frequent communication and coordination with other Information Technology staff members, including but not limited to mentoring other team members, training sessions, and some project management.

Essential Functions:
o Configuration, installation, operation and maintenance of applications, databases and servers, including virtual environments, specialized servers and hardware appliances
o Administration and support of the following systems (but not limited to):
o Win Server OS
o AD and components
o Exchange
o Citrix/Terminal Services
o Sharepoint
o VMWare ESX/ESXi
o Server monitoring, management, and patch deployment tools
o Project management and project leadership. Develop project plans with timelines. Manage work to meet deadlines. Take the lead/assist in prioritization of work, escalation of issues, and development of contingency plans. Facilitate meetings and work sessions. Conduct post project reviews.
o Research, recommend and employ new and relevant technologies
o Ensure system performance & availability by monitoring space, CPU usage, RAM, network usage and other performance monitors as required
o Security at server and file levels. Includes: development, recommendation and implementation of security solutions
o Status updates to the end-user community and IT management as needed due to complexity level of project, issue or irregularity
o Configuration, operation and verification of data backups on servers and network devices
o Responsible for the data management policies, adherence and monitoring
o Participate in the creation and maintenance of documentation, policies, procedures and standards, as well as improving existing business processes
o Script or otherwise automate repetitive administrative tasks using PowerShell or similar tools.
o Provide mentoring and training of other staff members


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
o 5
years of experience designing and administering production systems
o Virtual/physical hosts, operating systems
o IT security task execution
o DR policy creation


PREFERRED SKILLS:
o Experience with network load balancers from F5
o TCP/IP understanding and common service protocols
o Storage technology
Experience: NFS, iSCSI especially using NetApp filers

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
