POSITION TITLE: SCIENCE TEACHER - PHYSICS AND MATERIALS SCIENCE

DESCRIPTION -
Responsibilities:
Work effectively and cooperatively with community, parents, teachers, administrators and support staff.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive and safe environment for learning.
Work collaboratively and collegially with a team developing integrated curriculum.
Use instructional technology in the delivery of curriculum.
Willingness to teach in an integrated team with Social Studies and English.
Qualifications:
Valid Washington Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements and meets the highly qualified standards to teach science.
Understanding Science EALRs, Grade Level Expectations and is committed to helping students succeed on the WASL.
Preferred training and or experience; or willingness to take course work to increase knowledge and use of the following instructional and management strategies, to include:1. Classroom Management Skills
2. Workshop Approach
3. Learner Centered Instruction (e.g. science notebooks, cooperative learning, etc.)
4. Developmentally Appropriate Practices
5. Assessment-driven instruction (performance, formative, summative)
6. Brain Compatible Learning Theory
7. Differentiation
8. Familiarity with the basic concepts of Glasser''s works inChoice Theory and Quality Schools
9. Reading and Writing Process
10. Gradual Release of Responsibility (To, With, By)
11. Integrated Instructional Practice
12. Anti bias, Multicultural Education
13. Cultural Competency
14. Teaching/Learning Cycle (assessment, evaluation, planning, teaching)
15. 5E Science Instructional Model
16. Professional Learning Communities
Preferred experience in working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically and racially diverse.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is on a conditional basis pending completion of a state and national background check.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
