We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Development team at our Nautilus Innovation Center in Vancouver, WA.
Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the detailed mechanical design of strength and cardio fitness equipment and provides on-going engineering guidance for existing products, including modifying designs and providing technical insight. Scope of work can range from 'blue sky' R&D design through production implementation and sustaining activities for today's leading fitness products. This position has a leading role in the development and improvement of best practices and processes within the Engineering group and will only be filled by a creative, energetic, self-motivated individual.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Mechanical design for a broad range of prototypes, new products and refresh products being developed in an R&D environment
Ownership of projects from inception to completion
Generate project requirements to resolve product/process problems, initiate technical investigations, and prepare design specifications, analyses
Providing leadership and mentoring to a team of Jr. design engineers
QUALIFICATIONS &
Experience:
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 years of engineering experience required.
An emphasis in consumer product goods design and manufacturing is a plus
Strong computer skills in 3D design/ modeling and 2D drafting
Experience of manufacturing and manufacturing processes
Experience with a variety of materials and processes are required
Demonstrated ability of designing products from ground up
Solidworks & Simulations experience is a must
Proven ability to take designs into manufacturing and final production
Studies in Kinesiology and Biomechanics a plus
Experience working with contract manufacturing in Asia a plus
Excellent communication skills and enjoys working in a team environment
Ability to travel up to 15% of time
