Manufacturing Supervisor (Swing Shift)
nLIGHT is seeking a Swing Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team located in Vancouver, Washington.
Ramp a new production line and lead the swing shift manufacturing team for high-powered laser components. Lead your team to reach and maintain nLIGHT's standards for safety, quality, and production.
You will have daily interaction with the supply chain team and be responsible for all daily activities across the assembly department, as well as the test department for laser diodes. You need to be a highly motivated leader and manager with a proven track record with Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement. This position will be the swing shift leadership presence across manufacturing lines. Potential to move to a compressed schedule by the end of the year as manufacturing grows.
Functions
5-S, value stream mapping, and continuous flow
Train and develop of team members
Coordinate work flow through multiple departments
Report out in daily manufacturing meetings
Identify staffing needs and perform capacity planning
Maintain 5-S standards and reporting
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree preferred
5
years supervisor experience with hands-on general assembly processes. Experience with high volume manufacturing of a complex nature preferred
Competent in general production methodologies and metrics (KPI's)
Experience with 5-S standards and reporting
Highly motivated, with an autonomous approach to learning and achieving goals
Ability to know when to ask questions and receive direction
Ability to drive continuous enhancement approach to production
Ability to work with strong personalities, and bring them together
